Ado-Ekiti, Sept. 16, 2025 (NAN) Three men – Friday Adekunle, 26; Jetro Ogigi, 35; and Obayemi Samuel, 34, on Tuesday appeared before an Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrates’ Court for allegedly receiving stolen bags of cement worth N12 million.
The defendants, of unknown addresses, are facing a charge of receiving stolen cement.
The prosecutor, Insp Sodiq Adeniyi, told the court that the defendants committed the offence on Aug. 22 at about 9:0 a.m in Ado-Ekiti.
He alleged that the defendants unlawfully received stolen 1,260 bags of cement valued at N12 million from Mr Segun Samuel and Mr Nasiru Hussain, property of King’s Dada S.O Global Venture Limited.
Adeniyi said that the offence contravened Section 343(1) of the Criminal Law of Ekiti State, 2021.
The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge preferred against them.
Counsel to the defendants, Mr Opeyemi Esan, urged the court to grant them bail, with a promise that they would not jump bail.
The Chief Magistrate, Dolamu Babalogbon, granted each of the defendants N100,000 bail with one surety each in like sum.
Babalogbon adjourned the case until Oct.16 for hearing. (NAN)
