  • Mr. Monsuru Akinloye, the Chairman of Eredo Local Council Development Area in Lagos State, has rehabilitated and equipped three maternity centers to improve service delivery.

Akinloye made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Eredo.

He said that the initiative was aimed at enhancing maternal and child healthcare for the residents of the area.

The three rehabilitated maternity centers were located in Eredo, Mojoda, and Poka communities.

According to him, more rehabilitation projects are underway to further strengthen the healthcare system in the area.

The council chairman said that he had employed more health workers and medical doctors to cater to pregnant women, children, and others at the maternity centers.

He said: “The upgraded centres had been equipped with modern facilities, well-trained medical personnel, a reliable power supply with a standby generator, and a fully operational service system.

“No fewer than 50 patients visit those maternity centres in a day because of the quality service rendered and easy access to the health care facilities, ” he said.

Akinloye explained that the council had subsidised the service charges for patients to make quality healthcare services more accessible to the residents.

“The health and well-being of our people remain a top priority for my administration,” he assured.(NAN)
