Damaturu, Aug 27, 2025 (NAN) Alhaji Kashim Musa-Tumsah, a lawyer, has called on citizens in Yobe to imbibe the spirit of unity, progress and resilience as the state marks 34th anniversary .

Musa-Tumsah, a development advocated and diplomat, made the remark in a statement in Damaturu on Wednesday.

He noted that the state was “ The Pride of The Sahel” and a land rich in history and culture,

“As we reflect on our journey since August 27, 1991, we are reminded of how far we have come as a people. From humble beginnings, Yobe has grown in status, resilience, and promise.

“Despite the challenges we have faced over the decades, from developmental hurdles to security concerns, the unwavering spirit of our people has continued to shine through.

“ I am proud to be a son of this great state, and I remain deeply committed to the ideals of unity, peace, and sustainable development,” the lawyer said.

Musa-Tumsah, however, said that more would be needed to be done by all stakeholders to ensure that the abundant human and natural resources in the state were properly harnessed.

The lawyer charged citizens of the state to use the anniversary not only to celebrate, but also to recommit themselves to building a state where education, healthcare, and security were accessible to every citizen.
