Lagos, Jan. 27, 2026 (NAN) The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has met International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) TrainAir Plus requirements, earning prestigious gold member status.
FAAN’s Director of Public Relations and Consumer Protection, Mr Henry Agbebire, disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Lagos.
Agbebire described the membership as “a significant milestone for aviation training and capacity development in Nigeria, and a clear mark of global excellence”.
He said the recognition, valid from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, reflected FAAN’s sustained commitment to global best practices and professional development.
“The achievement is a testament to dedication to human resource development championed by FAAN’s Managing Director, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku,” Agbebire said.
He explained that the ICAO TrainAir Plus Programme sets stringent international standards for instructor competence, training delivery and quality assurance.
“By attaining Gold status, FAAN has demonstrated full compliance, strengthening its role in safe, efficient and sustainable airport operations,” he added. (NAN)
