Congresses: Nasarawa APC lawmakers declare support for consensus candidate

Lafai, Feb.10, 2026 ( NAN) Lawmakers of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly have declared support for the party’s  Executive members of the party at all levels to emerge through consensus.

Mr Suleiman Azara, the Majority Leader of the House, stated this on Tuesday while briefing newsmen after their 9th Caucus meeting in Lafia.

Azara said that the support by the members would reduce tension and crisis among party faithful.

The majority leader also expressed confidence in the party leadership at all levels.

He said that the meeting was among other things to unite and discuss the way forward for the party’s progress beyond 2027 in the State.

“We have discussed issues of unity, peace and progress of the party. We are united and we are going to remain united, loyal to the party in the State.

“We have also declared support for the party’s arrangements on consensus regarding the upcoming congresses with our leaders.

“What party stakeholders discussed and agreed on at the last meeting in Government House over the upcoming congresses was the position we have adopted.

“We have agreed with the party’s position on consensus in the interest of unity, peace, progress and development of the party. We have confidence in our party leadership,” he said.

Azara assured that the APC lawmakers would continue to synergise with stakeholders and members of the party for the victory of the party beyond 2027 in the State.

He assured them of their continued readiness and commitment to embrace teamwork for the progress of the House.

“We will continue to work in unity and synergise with stakeholders and government for the progress of the State,” he said. (NAN)
