Ibadan, Feb.18, 2026 (NAN) One Emmanuel Ilesanmi, 54, was on Wednesday docked in an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, over an alleged N1.8 million land fraud.

Ilesanmi, whose address was not provided, was charged with obtaining money under false pretense, stealing and conduct likely to cause the breach of peace.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Prosecutor, ASP Femi Omilana, told the court that the defendant committed the offences sometime in 2019, at Omi Adio area of Ibadan.

He alleged that the defendant obtained the sum of N1.8 million from one Mrs Esther Odidi, with the pretext of purchasing two acres of land for her.

He alleged that the defendant failed to do so and therefore committed offences contrary to Sections 249(d), 390(9) and 419 of the Criminal laws of Oyo State, 2000.

The Magistrate, Mrs Adebola Adeola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of two million naira with two sureties in like sum.

She adjourned the case until April 6, for hearing. (NAN)
