Man, 43, docked for allegedly obtaining N3m by fraud

Ikorodu (Lagos State), Feb. 19, 2026 (NAN) A 43-year-old man, Adeshina Tajudeen, on Thursday, appeared before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos for allegedly conspiring with others at large to obtain three million naira by false pretense.

The defendant, whose address was not provided, is standing trial on a two-count charge of conspiracy and obtaining under false pretense.

He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecutor, Insp. Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov. 16, 2025, at about 10 a.m. at No 19, Oloyede Balogun St. Erunwen area of Ikorodu.

He alleged that, the defendant dishonestly obtained the sum of three million naira from a complainant one Mrs Taiwo Titilayo.

According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene the provisions of section 314(1)(a)(b)(3) and 412 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The Magistrate, Mr A.O. Ogbe, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000, with two sureties in like sum.

He ordered that the sureties address must be verified.

The court adjourned the case until April 16, for mention. (NAN)
