Approach responsibilities with open minds, Lagos council boss charges new appointees

Badagry (Lagos State),March 6, 2026 (NAN) Mr Rauf Yemaren, Chairman, Badagry-West Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State  has urged newly appointed Secretary to the  Local Government, Supervisors and Special Advisers to approach responsibilities with open minds.
Yemaren gave the advice during the swearing-in ceremony of the  appointees at the council Secretariat in Kankon on Friday.
He urged them to set aside past differences and unite as a  team to achieve  meaningful and lasting results for residents.
“Our administration is committed to driving people-oriented programmes that promote economic growth, infrastructural development, social inclusion, and improved welfare for our residents.
“This is in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu and the THEMES Plus Agenda of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
“At the grassroots, we shall continue to prioritize community development, youth and women empowerment, education support initiatives, environmental sustainability, and strengthened security collaboration.
 “Our goal remains clear, a more prosperous, peaceful, and progressive Badagry West,” he said.
The chairman urged party leaders, youth groups, women leaders and trade unions to continue to cooperate with his administration.
“Governance is a collective responsibility, and with your steadfast support, we will achieve even greater milestones.
“Let us remain united, focused, and committed to building the Badagry West of our dreams,” he said.
Yemaren appreciated Chief Joseph Bamgbose, the Apex leader of  Badagry-West LCDA, and his predecessor, Mr Joseph Gbenu for their unwavering support, guidance, and mentorship.
In his message,  Bamgbose encouraged the new appointees to remain focused and committed to service.
He described the appointments as only the beginning of greater responsibilities ahead.
Also speaking, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende, the Lagos State Commissioner for Youths and Social Development urged the appointees to discharge their duty effectively.
Ogunlende prayed that the next four years of their tenure would be more successful.
Mr Nathaniel Henwa, the new SLG promised to support the chairman and members of his executive to attain greatness.
Henwa urged residents of the council to support them to fulfill their dreams.
Mrs Balikis Basir, one of the female appointees appealed to people of Badagry communities to cooperate with them as a team to develop the council.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the  other appointee include  Mr Metose Dansuki, Mr  Boyon Samuel, Mrs Serah Hunsa and Mr Adande Mauyon.
Others are Mr Moses Kuwede, Mr Bankole Emmanuel, Mr Richard Ajaneson, Mr Mathias Kuton, Mr Ali Kareem, 0 Mr Olatunde Kudus, Mr Sotin Daniel, Mrs Esther Ajose  and Ogungbe Kingsley. (NAN)
