Ibadan, March 27, 2026 (NAN) The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Oyo State Command has arraigned two suspected drug traffickers; Babatunde Awoyemi, 63 and Banke Adigun, 50 before a Federal High Court in Ibadan for allegedly transporting 770gm of Tramadol and 47gm of Rubnol.
However, Awoyemi, male and Adigun, female pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge of unlawful dealing and possession of narcotics instituted against them.
Consequently, Justice Uche Agomoh ordered the defendants to be remanded in the Agodi correctional facility and adjourned the case until April 27 for hearing on bail application.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Mrs R.O. Ige told the court that the defendants committed the crime on Dec. 8 2025, along Lagos-Ibadan express road, Oyo state.
Ige alleged that the NDLEA operatives arrested Awoyemi and Adigun while transporting a sack containing 770gm of Tramadol and 47gm of Rubnol, both psychotropic substances with similar functions as Cocaine, Heroine and Cannabis Sativa.
She noted that the offences contravene the provisions of section 11(C ) of the NDLEA Act Cap n30 law of the federation 2004. (NAN)
