A 28-year-od man Mu’Azu Lawal, on Monday appeared before an Asaba Magistrates’ court, over alleged theft of a motorcycle.
Lawal was alleged to have stolen a Qlink motorcycle with Reg. Number EP 733 VF, belonging to one Mr Christopher Okechukwu,
He, however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The prosecutor, Insp. Alex Ibendiegwu alleged that he committed the offence on March 30, at Hausa market along Asaba/Benin express way.
According to him, the defendant stole the motorcycle which was parked by the side of the owner’s shop at Hausa Market.
The property is valued at N950,000..
The offence contravenes the provisions of section 390(9) of the Criminal Law of Delta State of Nigeria 2006.
The Magistrate, Mrs Edith Anumodu, granted the defendant bail in the sum of one million naira with two sureties in like sum.
She ordered that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must provide two passport photographs and valid means of identification.
She adjourned the case until June 23, for hearing.(NAN)
