Man docked for alleged criminal conspiracy, trespass and mischief

A 32- year- old  man , Ernest Idemudia, was on Monday docked in a Dutse Magistrates’ court in Abuja for alleged criminal conspiracy, trespass and mischief.

The police charged Idemudia, who lives in Lugbe with criminal trespass, conspiracy and mischief.

The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Prosecutor, C.J Okafor told the court that on March 3,2025, Nweke Uko and Co Legal practitioners Abuja, petitioned the commissioner of police FCT on behalf of their client , Mohammed Lukeman.

He said that, Lukeman of No 3, Epe Close, Off Sokoto crescent, Area 11, Garki Abuja reported the matter against Idemudia.

The police said the complainant alleged that the defendant, along with some other persons, at large trespassed into his property. and destroyed his four bedroom house, situated within Sabon Lugbe, Abuja in February 2025.

The damage to the property, the prosecution said is estimated at N20 million .

The Prosecuting counsel told the court that during Police investigation, Idemudia confessed to the crime but failed to give any satisfactory explanation to justify his actions.

Okafor said that the offense contravened the provisions of sections 97, 348 and 327 respectively of the Penal code law.

The Judge, Abdullahi  Ilela admitted the defendant to N5 million bail and one surety in like sum.

Ilela ordered that the surety must be a civil servant and must reside within the jurisdiction of the court.

The case was adjourned until June 23, for hearing.(NAN).
