My wife is very filthy, I am fed up, man tells court

A Kaduna Magistrates’ Court on Thursday sentenced a 28-year-old man, Usman Garba, to eight months imprisonment for impersonating a military officer.

The police charged Garba, a resident of Kawo Kaduna, with one count of impersonation.

The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, however, did not give Mohammed an option of fine.

He also warned the convict to be of good behavior.

The convict had earlier pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Chidi Leo, told the court that on May 29, the complainant, Hassan Mohammed , a motorcyclist reported the matter at Gabasawa Police Station.

Leo said that the convict went to Kawo market intimidating people and parading himself as a soldier.

The prosecutor added that during police investigation, the convict made a confessional statement.

He said that a military uniform and a card bearing the convict’s name were recovered from the convict.

Leo said the offence contravened the Kaduna State Penal Code, 2017. (NAN)
