A 20-year-old man, Sodiq Yusuf, on Thursday appeared before a Federal High Court in Lagos, for allegedly peddling 408g of Cannabis Sativa (a.k.a hemp).
Yusuf is standing trial before Justice Ayokunle Faji, on a count charge bordering on unlawful dealing in hemp.
He pleaded guilty to the charge.
Following his plea, Justice Faji adjourned the case until June 5, for review of facts.
Meanwhile, the court ordered a remand of the defendant at the correctional centre, pending review of facts.
In the charge, the prosecutor, Ms M.I Erondu, alleged that the defendant committed the offence on May 1, at WahabI Street in Akerele, Lagos.
He was alleged to have dealt unlawfully in 408g of Cannabis sativa contrary to the provisions of Sections 11(c) of the NDLEA Act Cap N30, Law of the Federation, 2004. (NAN)
