The Police have dragged a 25-year-old man, Azeez Kareem, before an Ojo Magistrates’ court in Lagos over alleged stealing of mobile phone and N180,000.
Kareem was charged before Magistrate O. M. Ogun, on a two-count charge bordering on stealing of phone and money.
He pleaded guilty to the charges and following his plea, the court adjourned the case until June 9, for review of facts.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, ASP Esther Adesulu told the court that the defendant committed the offences on May 16, at wellwood Hotel in Shibiri road, Ajangbadi, Ojo.
Adesulu alleged that the defendant stole a Vivo Y04 phone belonging to one Mr Victor Onyeka, valued at N550, 000.
On the same day and place, the defendant was also alleged to have stolen the sum of N180, 000 belonging to one Mr Chidi Enyosa, Director of the hotel.
The prosecutor said that the defendant was eventually apprehended by the police.
The offence contravenes the provisions of sections 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos 2015. (NAN)
