Gov. Abba Yusuf of Kano State has condoled the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Surajudeen Basiru, over the death of his mother, Mrs Sidikat Basiru,
This is contained in a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Tofa, on Monday in Kano.
Yusuf described Basiru, aged 92, as a devout Muslim and compassionate matriarch, whose life was defined by humility, submission to God and selfless sacrifice.
He lauded her commitment to nurturing her children with moral and religious values, noting that it reflected in the character and public service of Sen. Basiru and other family members.
The governor added that the deceased lived an impactful life and left a legacy of faith, integrity, and service.
He prayed God to grant the Basiru family strength to bear the loss, and forgiveness for her shortcomings. ( NAN)
