Two security guards, Pelumi Adeoye, 34 and Sunday James, 25, were on Tuesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan over an alleged negligence.
The duo working at Supreme Apartment off Joyce B road, Ibadan, were charged with conspiracy and negligence to prevent felony.
They, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Prosecutor, ASP Olagoke Adegbenro, said the defendants committed the offences between June 8 and June 9, 2026, at the aforementioned area in Ibadan.
Adegbenro alleged that the defendants being Security Guards at the aforementioned apartment, failed to use all reasonable means to prevent the commission of an offence of murder which occurred at the place.
He said the offences contravene provisions of Sections 517 and 515 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N2 million each and two sureties each in like sum.
Sanusi, among other terms, held that the two sureties must be blood relations, bearing same surnames with the defendants.
She adjourned the case until July 13, for mention. (NAN).
