Police arrest 4 suspected cultists in Delta

The Police Command in Delta has arrested four suspected cultists in Oghara, Ethiope West Local Government Area of the state.
Spokesman for the command, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday in Warri.
Edafe said that the suspects were apprehended on Sunday by the police operatives attached to the Oghara division.
According to him, one locally made cut-to-size gun and a live cartridge were recovered from the suspects.
“The police team was on a
surveillance patrol, when they intercepted a Lexus RX330 SUV conveying the suspects.
“The four occupants were subjected to a search during which one locally made cut-to-size gun and one live cartridge were recovered from the vehicle,” he said.
According to him,  the suspects are in the custody of command and investigation in the matter is still on course.
The police spokesman said that Mr Yemi Oyeniyi, the Commissioner of Police (CP) in charge of the command had reiterated the command’s commitment to dismantling criminal networks in the state.
Edafe said that the CP had also reemphasized the command’s readiness to sustain intelligence-led and proactive policing operations, aimed at combating cultism and curbing proliferation of illegal firearms across the state.
He urged members of the public to continue to support the police with timely, credible and actionable information.
“The command remains relentless in its efforts to safeguard lives and property throughout the state,” Edafe said.(NAN).
