A socio-political organisation and prominent political arm of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Owo Totality, described as fake an opinion poll purportedly conducted by a Lagos-based firm which gave the Alliance for Democracy (AD) candidate, Olusola Oke, an edge over all the other candidates in the governorship election holding on Saturday.
A statement issued on Monday by its spokesperson, Francis Olagbuji, said the poll credited to Poll Consult was nothing but a mischief which did not reflect the reality on the ground in the state.
According to him, the purported firm was neither credible nor were the fundamentals cited dependable.
Olagbuji described the opinion poll as a charade lacking in any scientific proof and reckoning expected of true polls and should therefore be disregarded.
He said, “We read the whole orchestration as published in the media and came to the conclusion that the poll which purportedly gave Olusola Oke an edge in the governorship election slated for Saturday was nothing but a fraud, lacking in scientific reckoning and credibility.
“The name “Poll Consult” is never registered by the Corporate Affairs Commission as we have found out and neither is it ever connected with any opinion poll in the past but only concocted for this moment.
“But the good people of Ondo State are wiser than such little-minded media propaganda to deceive the electorate because at the end of the day, it is the people who will vote and decide the outcome of the election and not such cheap propaganda that is obviously false. For the avoidance of doubt, let it be known to all that the said poll is a fake and should be regarded as figment of the imagination of the sponsors.
