Contrary to the rumour making the round in the nooks and crannies of Taraba state, that Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku’s son has tested positive of coronavirus, the governor has debunked the rumour saying “no member of my family have tested positive of the virus.”
In a press statement Issued to journalists in Jalingo, through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Bala Dan Abu, the governor denying that non of the governor’s children domiciles in the state, the allegation he said is aim at discredicting the laudable moves of the governor to halt the spread of the virus into the state
The allegation which are visible in some online media, according to the governor, came as a result of his decision to shutdown worship center last Tuesday.
According to the statement “the allegation came on the hill of governor Ishaku’s decision on Tuesday suspending church services and Jumat prayers in the state for the next two weeks to prevent coronavirus infection in the state.”
Wondering why some people could be “so mischivious” , the allegation according to the release “is therefore fallacy and contains not a sing grain of truth ” adding that “it is clearly the handiwork of mischief makers out to discredit the laudable positive steps governor Ishaku has taken to prevent the infection of Covid-19 in the state.
The state governor, he said would not be deterred by the allegation but would continue to work round the clock to prevent the spread of the virus in the state
