The Real Estate Developers Association of Nigeria (REDAN) says it is in the forefront of promoting new local technology and content that will make housing and estate development affordable to all.
The Vice President of REDAN South-East, Mr Chidiebere Makuachukwu, said this on Tuesday during a news conference on the upcoming South-East Housing Summit and Exhibition in Enugu, tagged “Akulueuno 2021”.
Makuachukwu said the summit would bring researchers and innovative minds, developed ideas and products in the housing and real estate industry together to showcase innovations meant to push the industry forward.
According to him, the summit will pave the way for discovery of potentials and opportunities that abound in the industry.
It would also provide the opportunity for professionals and stakeholders in the industry to share new ideas.
Makuachukwu described the summit as a must-attend for everybody in the southeast especially in Enugu, saying it would guide people on how to secure house mortgage from Federal Mortgage Bank and private mortgage banks.
He said: “We are using the summit to tell our people all over the world that the southeast is conducive and save for their investment, especially on housing and real estate industry.
“It is for them to come and meet genuine REDAN members ready to build, sell or do mortgage arrangement on a house or land property.”
Makuachukwu said the summit would also attract Asian expatriates in housing and building that would showcase new technologies and machines to achieve quality and affordable houses.
He said that investment in housing and real estate industry had a lot of economic and job creation benefits.
“The economic multiplier effect on building just one bungalow touches over 10 professionals, labourers and their dependents,” Makuachukwu said.
He said the summit, with the theme: “Affordable housing in the current economic circumtsnaces”, would attract over 2,000 participants from various stakeholders in the industry.
He said the summit, which would take place on Sept. 30, would have hundreds of exhibition and innovation points, where stakeholders, companies, innovators and researchers would display new products and technologies.
“The summit is set to bringing on board top functionaries in the three tiers of government, professionals in the building and construction industry, scholars in related departments in higher institutions of learning, indigenous and foreign investors,” Makuachukwu said.
He said the event was also billed to be attended by real estate practitioners, manufacturers of building materials, research consultants, mortgage and commercial banking experts, among others.
He said the summit would help to chat a way forward for the sustainable growth of the industry in the region.
“Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi will be the chief host,” he said, adding that the Executive Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank would deliver a keynote lecture at the event. (NAN)
