Tafidan Abaji, Abuja, Alhaji Bilyaminu Sokodabo, on Wednesday encouraged students to cultivate entrepreneurial skills for post-graduation survival.
In a statement, Khalil Khali, President National Association of Political Science Students, University of Abuja, said that Sokodabo made the call when the association presented him an award.
Khalil quoted Sokodabo as saying that the call to acquire more skills other formal education became imperative because of the scarcity of white collar jobs.
“Self-reliance will sustain you after graduation than looking for collar jobs so you have to build yourselves with entrepreneurial ship skills ,” he said.
Sokodabo promised to give guidance to the students at any point his attention was needed.
The Tafidan Abaji, while receiving the award thanked the association for finding him worthy of the recognition.
The association’s president said that the award was given to Sokodabo in recognition of his contributions towards human capital development, especially in the areas of education and vocational training.
“On behalf of the association, I, in company of the association’s scribe, Blessing Ayodele, presents this award to you for your support to youths.
“This award is also in recognition of your support for girl child education and women empowerment.
”Your provision of mentorship to young people and leadership excellence is so noted ,” he said (NAN).
