The Anambra State Police Command on Wednesday at 5:30 pm busted a 6-man armed robbery gang , along Ogidi/Eke-Nkpor road. Found in their possession were two automatic pump action gun, six life cartridges, one suspected snatched black Toyota Camry, and one ash Toyota corolla. In a statement released by the Anambra State Police Command didclosed the suspects as Innocent Ifeanyi a 29-year old Male, 33-year old Nweze Chiderah, Igwe Emmanuel 20 year Male , kelechi Ani m aged 35, Chidera Nwaobodo 23 year old Male and Emeka Onuoha 30 year old Male. They were arrested while attempting to escape the crime scene after a car snatching and robbery operation. The suspects sustained gun shots wounds following a duel with Police Operatives.
Also, Police Operatives acting on credible information at Ogidi recovered a Dangote Group Limited truck that was reported to have been stolen at gunpoint on the 1st of January, 2023 along Owerri road, Ogidi, Onitsha. The arrested suspects Emmanuel Nwosu, Francis Obiano, and John Philip who confessed to the crime.
Anambra State Police Spokesman,DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, asked the general public to go about their lawful business as the suspects will have their day in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
