A gospel artist, Deborah Ajayi, has urged Nigerians not to give up hope in the nation, saying things will get better soon.
Ajayi, who said this while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos, said it had become imperative for Nigerians to be hopeful, despite the current economic situation in the country.
She encouraged Nigerians to keep hope alive, adding that God has not forgotten the country.
“He will definitely intervene in the nation’s challenges.”
In the same vein, she urged other gospel artists to intensify efforts in the production of soul-lifting songs that would encourage the people.
“This is a trying period in the history of our dear nation. I want Nigerians to remain optimistic and trust God; God will make everything good in His time.
“As we go through this horrible economic situation, I urge all gospel artists to show compassion to the less privileged in society.
“As preachers of the gospel, we have a lot to do at this trying time; we should intensify effort in our habit of giving, showing love, and caring.
“I am optimistic that we will all overcome every challenge we are experiencing now,” Ajayi said.
According to her, depression is not an option at the moment for any Nigerian, but there is hope in God, who can turn anything around for the better.
Ajayi, who has practiced professionally for 15 years, recently released two singles: “The Blood” and “The Hand of God,” among other singles previously released.
The artist said she gains inspiration to sing each time she worships God in secret places.
According to her, the sole mission of the industry is to encourage soul-winning for God.
“I have released six singles altogether. Major testimonies of healing, gaining contracts, and marital reconciliations have been the feedback from people who listen to my music,” Ajayi said.
She said that Nigeria at the moment needed refreshing, edifying, life-changing, life-rebranding, and transforming music to draw them closer to God.
Ajayi said that it had been the major focus of her music and that she was ready to do more to soothe lives in these hard times.
NAN reports that Ajayi recently unveiled a new single with well-detailed lyrics and a video titled “The Blood,” directed by Waleola Ajayi Visuals.
The song, blending the Yoruba and English languages, joins other works that include “Ekaabo,Oni Majemu,” and the widely accepted single “Oyinmomo.”. (NAN)
