As eulogies continue to pour in for former Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, the governor of Taraba State, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, has state has described the late governor as one who made “made invaluable contributions to the development of Oyo State and towards the stabilisation of democracy in Nigeria during his sojourn in politics”.
Dickson, who sent his condolence message to the bereaved family and the people of Oyo State in Jalingo on Friday, through a statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity Matters, Bala Dan Abu, described the death of Ajimobi as a “huge loss to the state and Nigeria at large”.
He said: “His immense contribution to governance was part of the reason the late former governor was still being assigned an important political role as acting national chairman of his political party, even while he was on his sick bed.”
Dickson prayed God to grant his family and the entire people of Oyo State the fortitude to bear the loss.
Ajimobi died on Thursday at the First Cardiology Consultants Lagos after a long battle with complications resulting from COVID-19.
