Awka, March 4, 2026 (NAN) The Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) has approved three major activities to mark the inauguration of Gov. Chukwuma Soludo for a second term in office.
Soludo will be sworn in on March 17, following his re-election in the Nov. 8, 2025 Governorship poll.
The Commissioner for Information, Dr Law Mefor, disclosed this in a statement issued after ANSEC’s second meeting of 2026, held at the Light House, Awka, on Wednesday.
Mefor stated that the council approved an interdenominational service on March 15, the swearing-in ceremony on March 17, and a thanksgiving service on March 22 as part of the activities to commemorate the inauguration.
According to him, the council also constituted several sub-committees to organize and ensure the smooth execution of the events.
He further stated that the council awarded and approved funds for strategic projects across the state.
He listed the projects to include the construction of an IAAF-standard five-lane spray system track and natural grass pitch at the Ekwulobia Stadium Complex.
The projects also comprise road marking and installation of thermoplastic speed bumps along the 10.043km newly constructed Afor Nkpor–Eke Obosi Road.
Mefor also disclosed that the council approved the building of an asphalt surface on the service lane to the state House of Assembly and the High Court Complex, Awka, among other projects.(NAN)
