A 28-year-old man, Pamilerin Babatunde on Tuesday pleaded guilty before Justice Uche Agomoh of the Federal High Court Ibadan to charges of drug trafficking.
Babatunde was arraigned on a two-count charge bordering on unlawful possession and dealing in 147g of Cannabis Sativa and 2g of Methamehetatine, both psychotropic substances.
He pleaded guilty to the charges
Following his plea, the trial judge Justice Agomoh ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Agodi correctional facility, pending review of facts and judgment on July 1.
The prosecutor, Mrs A.A. Balogun had earlier told the court that the defendant committed the crime on April 22, at Oke-Ado area of Ibadan, Oyo State.
Balogun alleged that operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Oyo State Command, arrested Babatunde following intelligence that he was a drug peddler .
He said that the offences contravene the provisions of section 11(c and 19 of the NDLEA Act Cap N30 Law of the Federation 2004 (NAN)
