Lagos, March 6, 2026 (NAN) A 33-year-old man, Micheal Uche, who allegedly stole a N300,000 mobile phone on Friday, appeared before an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State

Uche is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.

The Prosecutor, ASP Donjiur Perezi, told the court that the defendant and others still at large committed the offences on Jan. 27, at 1:30 p.m. on Ikorodu Road, Mile 12, Lagos.

The prosecutor alleged that the defendant stole a Redmi A3 Android phone valued at N300,000, property of one Bose Emmanuel.

According to Perezi, the defendant stole the phone from the complainant under the pretext of making a call on it after inviting her to a hotel.

The prosecutor said that after collecting the phone, the defendant surrepticiously fled with it.

The offences, he said, contravened Section 411 and punishable under Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate granted the defendant N100,000 bail with two sureties and adjourned the case until March 23 for further hearing. (NAN)
