The Permanent Secretary said massive turnout of the people for registration would determine their qualifications for demarcation and subsequent creation of additional constituencies in the state.
Musa, who commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule for approving the sensitization, called on the people to justify the effort of the present administration by coming out in numbers to register.
He, therefore, appealed to the people to support the present administration and take ownership of government policies and programmes that have a direct bearing on them.
He said the campaign was also aimed at educating the youth about the implication of engaging in electoral violence, particularly during the forthcoming local government election slated for October 6, 2021.
He charged the youth to rather champion the cause of free and fair election by leveraging the virtue of their position as future leaders of the society.
“The moment you allow yourselves to be used by politicians to disrupt the process of electing your leaders, you are by implication mortgaging your future,” he said.
Similarly, the Emir of Lafia, Sidi Bage and Andoma of Doma, Dr Ahmadu Aliyu-Ogah, commended Gov. Sule’s foresight for coming out with sensitisation.
The traditional rulers assured the governor of their support in ensuring that their subjects avail themselves of the ongoing INEC e – voter registration.
They also urged their subjects to desist from engaging in electoral violence, particularly during the local government election in the state.
The state government took the campaign to Lafia and Doma Local Government and met with the traditional rulers, Civil Society Organisations, NGOs, youth leaders, women leaders and LGAs officials. (NAN)
