No fewer than 184 Nigerian students from four different schools  visited the National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM), Lagos, on Thursday.

Some of the students shared some of the knowledge gained with a NAN correspondent.

Olaonipekun also got to see clay pots which were used to preserve drinking water as it normally chills water as against refrigerators used now.
” This is an eye opener for me, knowing where we are coming from and where we are now. It is an interesting visit,” she said.
Modesty Abii, a pupil of Winning Edge Montessori School, gave a vivid description of the car of late former Nigerian President, General Murtala Mohammed, ,who was assassinated and killed on Feb. 13, 1976.
Abi said he was made to understand that there was a period in the history of human existence when occurrences were inscribed on elephant tusk in a bid to keep history.
“This is a place to be.
“I have learnt a lot, some of which include the story surrounding the death of late General Murtala Mohammed and how the people in the olden days tried to keep history even before the advent of books and pens,” he said. (NAN)
