The Police on Tuesday arraigned three men before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court over alleged assault and property damage.
The defendants are Olatilewa Taofeek, 37; Olamilekan Balogun, 34; and Ogungbero Ajalekoko, 27.
They face a six-count charge bordering on conspiracy, assault occasioning harm, malicious damage and threats.
The charges also include conduct likely to cause a breach of peace within the Ikeja Magisterial District.
Police prosecutor, Supol Josephine Ikhayere, told the court that the offences occurred on June 10.
She said the incident happened at Jakande Market, Ketu, involving the defendants and others still at large.
Ikhayere alleged that the defendants conspired to commit assault, malicious damage and threaten violence.
She told the court that they allegedly attacked Tijani Ifesanya with planks, causing bodily injuries.
The prosecutor further alleged that Mathew Adebayo was beaten and pushed during the incident.
She said the attack resulted in injuries sustained by Adebayo during the alleged confrontation.
Ikhayere also alleged that properties worth N60 million belonging to Ikosi-Isheri LCDA were destroyed.
The properties were reportedly damaged at a new construction site in the Ketu area.
The prosecutor alleged that Taofeek used scissors to intimidate and threaten Ifesanya.
She added that the defendants disrupted ongoing work, creating conditions likely to cause public disorder.
The prosecutor said the offences violated relevant sections of Lagos State Criminal Law, 2015.
The defendants pleaded not guilty to all charges brought against them.
Magistrate, Lateef A. Owolabi, granted each defendant bail of N2 million.
The court also ordered each defendant to provide responsible sureties before release.
The case was adjourned until July 28 for mention. (NAN)
