The Oyo State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of a businessman, Alhaji Wasiu Aleshinloye, in his residence at Irawo, Atisbo Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
The Command spokesman, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday in Ibadan.
The statement said the case of the victim abducted at gunpoint was reported at Tede Police Division on Monday at about 22:20hrs.
It said a 10-year-old girl also sustained gunshot injuries during the incident.
“However, the girl was immediately rushed to a hospital for medical attention and extraction of pellets”.
According to the statement, Police detectives had visited the scene and recovered three expended shells of ammunition and three face caps, adding that the recovered items were undergoing forensic investigation.
It said tactical and intelligence-driven efforts are currently ongoing to rescue the victim unhurt and apprehend the perpetrators.(NAN)
