    Police apprehend 178 suspects, recover firearms in A’Ibom 

    The Police Command in Akwa Ibom says it has apprehended 178 persons over suspected involvement in various crimes, and recovered 69 firearms in the progress.

    The Commissioner of Police, Baba Azare, said this at a press conference in Uyo on Monday while giving update on the crime situation in the state.

    Azare further said that in the month of May, the command rescued kidnap victims from their abductors.

    He said that most of the suspects apprehended during the period were involved in armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, drug trafficking, illegal possession of firearms among others.

    The police chief said that one of the major breakthroughs recorded within the period was the arrest of a suspected drug kingpin and four accomplices at Okobo Ebughu in Mbo Local Government Area.

    Azare said that during an operation at Okobo Ebughu, the command recovered 23 bags containing dried weeds suspected to be ‘hemp’

    He said that the break through was achieved through intelligence-led policing, coordinated raids, strategic surveillance operations, stop-and-search exercises, and tactical interventions across identified black spots.

    Azare told criminal elements in the state that there would be no hiding place for involvement in robbery, kidnapping, cultism, drug trafficking, illegal possession of firearms, and other violent crimes.

    He said that the command would continue to intensify intelligence gathering, tactical operations, patrol activities, and community policing initiatives to ensure sustained peace, safety, and protection of lives and property.(NAN)

    Court orders remand of defendants over alleged drug trafficking

    A Federal High Court in Ibadan, has ordered the remand of a 32-year-old man, Ismail Aliu, at the Agodi correctional centre for allegedly trafficking 1.2kg of hemp.

    The defendant were charged before Justice Uche Agomoh, on a one-count charge of unlawfully dealing in restricted narcotics brought against him by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

    He, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

    The prosecutor, Mr D.O. Otunla, alleged that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 14, at Ilero, in Kajola Local Government Area of Oyo State.

    He alleged that NDLEA operatives arrested the defendant for being in possession of a bag containing 1.2kg of Cannabis sativa.

    The offence contravenes the provisions of sections 11 (c) of the NDLEA Act Cap N30 Law of the Federation,  2004.

    The court ordered remand of the defendant at the correctional centre and adjourned the case until May 13, for hearing of his bail application.

    The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that in a similar case, the court also ordered the remand of one  Wale Adeniran, 30, at the correctional centre, for allegedly dealing in 600kg of hemp.

    Adeniran had pleaded not guilty to a one-count charge of unlawfully dealing in restricted narcotics.

    The prosecutor alleged that the defendant committed the offence on Feb. 16, at Balogun Compound, Ago-Egbe, Adoawaye, Iseyin Local Government Area of Oyo State.

    According to Otunla, NDLEA operatives arrested the defendant for being in possession of a sack containing 600kg of the illicit substance.

    The court has also fixed May 13, for hearing of the defendant’s bail application. (NAN)

    ECOWAS Naval chiefs synergise against growing threats in Gulf of Guinea

    Abuja, Feb. 23, 2026 (NAN) Chiefs of the Naval Staff of ECOWAS member states recently convened in Accra, Ghana, to strengthen the Combined Maritime Task Force (CMTF) against growing threats in the Gulf of Guinea.

    This is contained in a statement by the Acting Director of Information, Nigerian Navy, Capt. Abiodun Folorunsho, made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Abuja on Monday.

    Folorunsho said that the fifth meeting of the ECOWAS Sub-Committee of Chiefs of the Naval Staff, which held between Feb. 16 and 20, addressed escalating maritime insecurity, including terrorism, drug trafficking, and Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing.

    He also said that the ECOWAS Naval leaders stressed the urgent need for deeper regional cooperation, adding that the Nigeria’s Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Adm. Idi Abbas, led the discussions.

    He said this was alongside ECOWAS Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and Security, Amb. Abdel-Fatau Musah, directors of regional maritime security centres, and Multinational Maritime Coordination Centres (MMCC) Zones E, F and G.

    He added that representatives from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), the European Union-African Chamber of Commerce, and the Commander of the CMTF were also present.

    According to him, Musah commended strides made under the ECOWAS Integrated Maritime Strategy, highlighting Operation SAFE DOMAIN in Zone E, Operation ANOUANZE in Zone F, and Joint Maritime Patrols in MMCC Zone G.

    He also sued for stronger coordination with landlocked countries like Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger to combat terrorism and transnational organised crime.

    The Navy spokesman said that the meeting spotlighted environmental-security concerns in the Lake Chad Basin and lauded Nigeria’s FALCON EYE Surveillance System for enhancing maritime situational awareness in the Gulf of Guinea.

    ”A key outcome was renewed momentum to operationalise the CMTF through a coalition of willing nations, with Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, and Sierra Leone formally expressing interest in joining Nigeria.

    ”The flag-off of the task force is scheduled to hold in Lagos between May 31 and June 1, with Nigeria, as host nation, contributing three ships, one helicopter, eight vehicles, and a temporary furnished office to support the CMTF.

    ”The task force is designed as a rapid-response, coordinated maritime force leveraging intelligence from the Yaoundé Architecture to tackle evolving threats in the region,” he said.

    He added that Abbas’ strategic leadership at the meeting underscored Nigeria’s role as the anchor of regional maritime security, while signaling heightened expectations for Abuja to translate commitments into sustained operations and stronger regional coordination. (NAN)

    NDLEA seizes 64 bags of suspected cannabis, arrests driver in Kano

    Kano, Feb.13, 2026(NAN) The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Kano Strategic Command, says it has intercepted 64 bags of suspected cannabis sativa concealed in a cement-laden trailer along the Zaria to Kano Road and arrested a driver.

    The State Commander, Dahiru Yahaya-Lawal, disclosed this in a statement issued on Friday in Kano by the command’s Public Relations Officer, ASN Sadiq Muhammad-Maigatari.

    He said that the arrest was part of the agency’s sustained efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse across state.

    Yahaya-Lawal said that the consignment was seized on Feb. 2 by officers of the Kiru Area Command following intelligence-led surveillance and monitoring.

    He said the trailer loaded with Dangote cement, departed Obajana in Kogi and was heading to Mubi in Adamawa when it was intercepted.

    According to him, the driver of the vehicle had been arrested and was currently in NDLEA custody pending further investigation.

    The commander said that the seizure was as a result of meticulous intelligence gathering and dedication of officers.

    “The drugs were concealed within legitimate cargo and are believed to have been intended for distribution in Kano ahead of the Ramadan period.

    “We will not allow drug traffickers to endanger the safety and spiritual wellbeing of our communities,” Yahaya-Lawal said.

    He said in line with directives from the NDLEA Chairman, retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa, the command would intensify patrols, reinforce checkpoints and sustain intelligence-driven operations across the state.

    Yahaya-Lawal added that investigation into the network behind the shipment was ongoing, noting that efforts were being made to apprehend other collaborators and facilitators.

    He warned that anyone found culpable would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

    The commander also called on members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities related to drug trafficking to the nearest NDLEA office or through official channels.

    He emphasised that community cooperation was essential to safeguarding citizens and maintaining peace, especially during religious observances.(NAN)

    NDLEA arraigns man over alleged drug trafficking

    Ibadan, Feb. 6, 2026 (NAN) The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on Friday, dragged a 30-year-old man, Kamardeen Hakeem, before a Federal High Court in Ibadan, over alleged drug trafficking.

    Hakeem is standing trial on a one-count charge bordering on unlawfully dealing in 202g of cannabis sativa a.k.a hemp.

    He pleaded guilty to the charge.

    Following his plea, the trial judge, Justice Nkeonye Maha, ordered the remand of the defendant at the Agodi correctional centre, pending a review of facts.

    The court consequently, adjourned the case until March 10, for review of facts and judgment.

    In the charge, the prosecutor, Mrs R.O Ige, had told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Nov. 7, 2025, at the Apata area of Ibadan, Oyo State.

    Ige alleged that Hakeem was arrested by NDLEA operatives, while in possession of a bag containing 202g of Cannabis Sativa.

    According to the prosecutor, the offence contravenes the provisions of section 11(C ) of the NDLEA Act cap N30 Law of Federation 2004. (NAN)

    Drug war: Marwa sets 2026 operational targets for NDLEA Commanders

    Abuja, Jan. 23, 2026(NAN)The Chairman, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), retired Brig.-Gen. Buba Marwa has set the tone for the 2026 operational goals with a high-level strategic meeting with Directors, Commanders and Heads of formations.

    Marwa also charged them to sustain the current momentum in the war against illicit substances by going all out to dismantle drug cartels and intensify sensitisation efforts across the country.

    The NDLEA boss gave the charge at the Annual Review and Planning Meeting held at the NDLEA National Headquarters on Friday in Abuja.

    The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the top echelon of the agency at the meeting included the members of the management; Zonal Commanders, Commanders from the 36 States and the FCT.

    Others were: Commanders of Seaports and International Airports; the Marine Unit Commander; Commanders of the Strike Force and the Special Operations Units, among others.

    Addressing the commanders, Marwa emphasised that the agency had kicked off the year on a strong footing, building on the record-breaking successes of previous years.

    The NDLEA chairman stated that 2026 would be a year of unprecedented consolidation especially in the areas of Drug Supply Reduction (DSR) and Drug Demand Reduction (DDR).

    “The results we achieved last year were significant, but we cannot afford to rest on our oars.

    “Our 2026 goals are clear: we are here to completely disrupt the financial lifelines of drug cartels and ensure that every community in Nigeria is sensitised to the scourge of substance abuse,”he declared.

    During the session, Marwa directed the various commands to ensure a seamless execution of the 2026 strategic work plan.

    He said, “When I first assumed office, I made certain declarations about the direction of this agency and the resolve to confront drug barons and kingpins.

    “Looking back, the progress achieved is the result of your collective efforts, and all glory belongs to God.

    “We have now successfully concluded five years, which passed remarkably quickly.

    “While we acknowledge the achievements recorded during this period, we must not rest on our past successes.

    “Rather, we must consolidate these gains and aim for even greater outcomes.”

    Marwa said that the agency was now commanding increased respect, both locally and internationally, adding,” you should be proud to identify yourselves anywhere as officers and men of this Agency.”

    Marwa said that the renewal of his tenure by President Bola Tinubu was largely a reflection of the work of the officers and men of the agency.

    He said, “while I may issue directives, real impact comes from seizures made, arrests effected, and convictions secured in the field.

    “Without these results, there would be nothing to communicate to the public. For this reason, I sincerely appreciate your diligence, commitment, and hard work.

    “This year, we are here to set clear targets. Directors have already submitted their proposed objectives, but these will only be complete with input from commanders.

    “Discipline and professional conduct must remain central to our operations.Operational professionalism and zero tolerance for compromise are non-negotiable.”

    Marwa urged that commanders must ensure thorough surveillance and planning before any operations.

    He added that where operational capacity was insufficient,.the commanders must request reinforcement rather than risk avoidable casualties.

    Marwa said that advocacy and sensitisation efforts had recorded encouraging progress, particularly in schools and communities nationwide saying that the efforts must be intensified.

    “State Drug Control Committees must be strengthened across all states, with efforts extended down to local government and ward levels.

    “This year, all states must have functional committees.

    “I urge all commanders to remain focused, professional, and committed to the mandate of the Agency.

    “Together, we will continue to strengthen our impact and uphold the confidence reposed in us,”he said.

    The NDLEA boss reassured the public that the agency remained more committed than ever to protecting Nigerian youths and families from the drug scourge.

    He said the agency’s strong footing at the start of 2026 was a signal to drug cartels that there will be no vacuum or breathing space for their illicit trade.

    He encouraged Nigerians to remain vigilant and continue providing useful information to the agency, reminding all that the fight against substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking was a collective responsibility.(NAN)

    NDLEA nabs ex-convict, female online vendor, others in 9 states raids

    Abuja, Jan. 18, 2026 (NAN) The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested an ex-convict, female online vendor and others in raids conducted in Jigawa, Lagos, Ogun, Edo, Delta, Oyo, FCT, Enugu, and Kwara states.

     

    The Director, Media and Advocacy, NDLEA, Mr Femi Babafemi said this in a statement on Sunday in Abuja.

     

    Giving a breakdown, Babafemi said that NDLEA operatives in Edo state on Tuesday, Jan. 13 raided the Arokpa forest, Uzebba town, Owan West LGA, leading to the arrest of another drug lord, and seizure of 320kg skunk and seeds.

     

    Meanwhile, in the FCT, Abuja, operatives on Friday, Jan. 16 tracked and arrested a 44-year-old lady following intelligence on her online sale of illicit substances.

     

    “At the time of her arrest, 2.2kg skunk and litres of cannabis oil which she produces in her kitchen and sells through online advertisement were recovered from her home at the Kaura district, Abuja.

     

    “Another suspect was on Tuesday, Jan. 13 arrested with 148.3 grams of cocaine and skunk at his 12 Biskira street, Abacha Estate, Abuja home,” he said.

     

    Also, 118.1kg skunk was seized from two suspects at Fadeyi area of Mushin Lagos on Friday, Jan. 16 adding that not less than 116kg of the same substance was recovered from a warehouse at the new market area of Enugu the same day.

     

    Similarly, two suspects were on Thursday, Jan. 15 arrested by NDLEA operatives along Onitsha -Asaba expressway in Delta, while conveying 410,800 pills of tramadol.

     

    “Other drugs intercepted include 84.2 litres of codeine syrup; 82,250 tablets of diazepam; 900 tabs of swinol and 65 pills of Molly,” he said.

     

    In Oyo state, a suspect was nabbed on Thursday, Jan. 15 at Moniya, Ibadan, with 321 litres of skuchies, and 2.5kg Colorado, a synthetic strain of cannabis.

     

    Babafemi said that another suspect was caught the same day at Odo-Ona, Ibadan, in possession of 5.4kg Scottish Loud; 1.696kg skunk and 2.5kg Colorado, bringing the total weight to 9.696 kilograms.

     

    In another raid at Agbeni area of the state capital, 52,430 pills of tramadol and bromazepam were recovered from the store of Orji Edwin, currently at large, on Saturday, Jan. 17.

     

    In Kwara state, NDLEA operatives on Tuesday, Jan. 13 raided a residential building at Gamo area of Ilorin where they seized 42 bags of skunk that weighed 387.40kg.

     

    Babafemi said that a total of 157,519 bottles of codeine syrup were discovered in a container at the Apapa port in Lagos during a joint examination of the shipment by NDLEA, Customs and other security agencies on Friday, Jan. 16.

     

    In the same vein, an ex-convict, was arrested with various quantities of skunk and exol-5 pills along with his accomplice in Ringim, Jigawa, on Saturday, Jan. 17.

     

    “Before his arrest, he attempted to escape by climbing the roofs of many houses in his bid to escape.

     

    “He was armed with a machete which he used to threaten NDLEA operatives and even inflicted injury on one of the officers,” he said.

     

    Meanwhile, across all Commands and formations of the Agency nationwide, NDLEA officers continued their War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) sensitisation activities in schools, worship centres, work places and communities among others in the past week.

     

    These include: WADA enlightenment lecture to students and staff of Umar Bin Khathab Islamiyyah School, Kurna, Kano; Tumbey College, Kajola Maya, Ikorodu, Lagos.

     

    Also, Anglican Secondary School, Makurdi, Benue; members of Katsina emirate, Katsina; and residents of Maitumbi community, Minna, Niger state among others.(NAN)

    Kano, Jan.15, 2026 (NAN) The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Kano State Command, has arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly attempting to smuggle Indian hemp in a loaf of bread into a custodial facility at the Kano High Court premises.

    This is contained in a statement issued on Thursday in Kano by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, CSC Musbahu Lawan-Kofarnasarawa.

    He said the suspect, who resides at Tishama Hotoro Quarters, Kano, was apprehended by officers from the Goron Dutse Custodial Centre while inmates were being escorted to court for their various hearings.

    According to him, the suspect was found to have concealed a substance suspected to be Indian hemp inside a loaf of bread, which he allegedly intended to hand over to an inmate during court proceedings.

    The statement added that the Controller of Corrections in the state, Ado Inuwa, had ordered that the suspect be handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for further investigation and possible prosecution.

    Inuwa also commended the Officer-in-Charge of the Goron Dutse Custodial Centre, ACC Kafilu Abdullahi, and other officers involved for their professionalism, vigilance and dedication in preventing the infiltration of illicit substances into custodial centres.

    He reiterated the Service’s commitment to maintaining safe, secure and drug-free custodial environments across the state.

    The controller urged members of the public, especially parents and guardians, to caution their wards against engaging in criminal activities.

    He reaffirmed the mandate of the Nigerian Correctional Service to reform, rehabilitate and reintegrate offenders into society.

    NDLEA seizes 134.483kg illicit drugs, arrests 157 suspects in Ebonyi

    Abakaliki, Jan. 12, 2026 (NAN) The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Ebonyi, says its operatives arrested 157 suspects and seized a total of 134.483kg of illicit drugs in the state.

    Mr Jude Ahamefule, the state NDLEA Commander, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abakaliki that the arrests and the seizures were made between Oct. and Dec. 2025.

    He said the arrest included 123 males and 34 females out of which six were convicted.

    Ahamefule said that the various drugs seized include cannabis sativa, heroin, methamphetamine, tramadol, diazepan and psychotropic substances.

    He identified the seizures as Cannabis sativa, 106.978kg, tramadol (100mg) 2619 capsules, 1.407kg methamphetamine (303 pinches), 0.0589kg of diazepan (700 tablets), and 0.161kg phenobarbitone syrup, 480ml aside others.

    “We rehabilitated and discharged four clients, and admitted six within the period under review.

    “Currently, a total of 12 clients are receiving rehabilitation in our facility.

    “Foty-four suspects were referred to counselling unit of the command in the period under review,” Ahamefule said.

    He pledged the command’s committed to the fight against drug abuse and trafficking in the state.

    He urged those involved in such illegal trade to desist both in the state and country at large. (NAN)

    Mexico City, Aug. 20, 2025 (dpa/NAN) Mexican President, Claudia Sheinbaum, on Tuesday denied that her government has any agreement with Washington on a bilateral project to dismantle drug cartels.

    On Monday, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) announced a bold bilateral initiative with Mexico to fight drug cartels, an operation initiative named “Project Portero.”

    However, Sheinbaum said that Mexico had not been consulted on the matter.

    “The DEA issued this statement, we don’t know on what basis.

    “We have not reached any agreement, there is no deal between our security institutions and the DEA,” Sheinbaum said during her daily news conference.

    Sheinbaum added that Mexico’s Foreign Ministry and the U.S. State Department had been working for months on a security agreement that is about to be signed.

    “This deal is fundamentally based on sovereignty, mutual trust, and territorial respect and coordination without subordination,” she said.

    She added that the only other ongoing bilateral security activity was a group of Mexican police officers attending a workshop in Texas.

    “That is all there is. There is nothing else, we do not know why they issued this statement,” the president continued.

    “The only thing we will always ask for is respect always.

    “If you are going to report something related to Mexico that is part of the security issue, we ask that it be done within the framework of the collaboration we have.”

    In its statement, the DEA said Project Portero would target drug cartel operatives who control the smuggling corridors along the U.S. south-western border by bringing together Mexican investigators and U.S. authorities.

    “Project Portero and this new training programme show how we will fight by planning and operating side by side with our Mexican partners, and by bringing the full strength of the U.S. government to bear.”

    DEA Administrator Terrance Cole said in the statement and calling the project “a bold first step in a new era of cross-border enforcement.”

    Sheinbaum’s rebuttal came after a positive exchange in late July, when U.S. President Donald Trump delayed higher tariffs on Mexican goods.

    In addition to tariffs, Trump and Sheinbaum have been clashing on cross-border migration from Mexico into the U.S. and Trump’s attempts to stop the flow of the opioid fentanyl into the US.

    Sheinbaum in recent months has agreed to extradite dozens of high-profile drug-trafficking suspects to the U.S.

    A Federal High Court in Lagos on Tuesday adjourned until Oct. 11 for a review of factsand sentencing, following a change of plea from not guilty, entered by  27-year-old man, Ismaila Tobi for drug trafficking.

    The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) charged  the defendant with drug trafficking.

    He was first arraigned before the court some months ago, and had pleaded not guilty to the charge.

    However, as trial was about to begin, the defendant changed his plea to guilty before Justice Akintayo Aluko.

    Following his plea, the prosecutor, Mrs J O Negedu, urged the court to give a date for review of the facts.

    NDLEA seeks more collaboration with sister agencies to stop drug trafficking

    The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has called for more collaboration with enforcement agencies and other relevant stakeholders to stop drug trafficking in Nigeria.

     The Apapa Commander, NDLEA, Mr Noah Ndutong, made the call on Wednesday in Apapa during the Grand Finale of the 2024 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

     The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that June 26 is observed as the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking.

     The theme for the year is “The evidence is clear, invest in prevention”.

     Ndutong emphasised that joint efforts from stakeholders would ease the work of the NDLEA as the agency was determined to strengthen action and cooperation to achieve the international goal of freeing society from drug abuse.

     He noted that nearly every family had been affected by drug abuse in some way and warned that the chances of overcoming drug abuse were slim.

     “The menace keeps depleting our workforce. Nigerians should invest more in preventing drug abuse.

     “Preventing drug abuse entails public enlightenment and sensitisation, among other measures. Our agency will drive drug dealers out of business faster with more synergy from other sister agencies.

     “Drug dealers won’t enjoy their businesses as they will all spend their time in jail. Drugs are a major contributor to crimes and criminality in the country,” Ndutong said.

     The Customs Area Controller, Apapa Command, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, represented by Assistant Comptroller of Customs, Uchenna Agomuo, said that drug abuse hinders national development.

     According to him, Apapa Command aligns with NDLEA in the fight against drug abuse.

     “Drug abuse fuels insecurity, among other crimes and together, we can fight it. So, I urge all hands to be on deck to achieve our target of zero tolerance for drug trafficking,” Olomu said.

     The 23rd Commander of Nigerian Navy Ship (NNS), Commodore Rafiu Oladeji, urged everyone to support the fight against drug abuse, calling it a global menace.

     He commended the NDLEA for involving more youths and students in the awareness campaign, which he added would help reduce the rate of drug abuse in society.

     The Assistant Commander General of Narcotics, NDLEA, Mrs Florence Ezeonye, urged youths to prevent themselves from engaging in drug abuse rather than seeking cures after addiction.

     In his closing remarks, the Area Commander of Tincan Island Ports, NDLEA, Mr Muhammed Abubakar, commended the sister agencies and other stakeholders for their participation.

     He said that their collective efforts had contributed to a massive turnout of stakeholders and youths in the sensitisation campaign against drug trafficking.

     Abubakar urged Nigerians to join hands with the government to stop drug abuse and drug trafficking in the country. (NAN)

    Nigerian footballer sentenced to death for drug trafficking in Vietnam

    A 23-year-old Nigerian footballer, Theophilus Ugwu, has been sentenced to death in Vietnam for smuggling six kilograms of methamphetamine from Cambodia into the country.

    Ugwu who was convicted by the People’s Court of the Western Province of Tay Ninh on Thursday, was arrested on March 8, 2020, while transporting 12 bags of narcotic substances from neighbouring Cambodia.

    According to court reports, Ugwu was charged with “illegal trafficking of narcotic substances,” a crime punishable by death in the country.

    In an interview with journalists, Ugwu said he came from Nigeria to Cambodia in February of 2020 with the dreams of playing professional football.

    He added that in March, he became acquainted with another African who promised to help him play for a famous Cambodian club.

    He said he was contacted to deliver a package from Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and was promised the sum of $1000 when he delivered the bag successfully though he did not know the bag contained drugs.
