Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshanyin of Odo-Nofirija in Eredo Local Council Development Area of Lagos State, has commended Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the construction of Epe/Ibeju-Lekki expressway road.
Ogunlaja made the commendation while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Eredo on Wednesday.
He said that recently Gov. Sanwo-Olu came to Epe for a mega rally organised by APC’s stakeholders and thereafter, commissioned Epe/Ibeju-Lekki expressway project.
He said that road development was another way of delivering prosperity to the people of Epe Division.
He also congratulated the state government on its developmental strides to the citizens.
According to him, the road will further connect travellers from the state to other southern/eastern parts of the country as well as engender enormous human and capital development.
“The good people of Epe Division are particularly happy with the completion of the project, which serves as inter/intra connectivity point.
“Epe and Ibeju-lekki are known for fish farming and other agricultural produce. it will no longer be difficult to access other part of the state.
“The completion of the road will ensure the seamless distribution and movement of fish and agro products to every nook and crannies of the state.
“While we want to appreciate Gov. Sanwo-Olu for his efforts, we reassure him of our unflinching support to his government, ” he said.
The traditional ruler applauded the governor for the rapid development recorded across the state within the last three years.
Ogunlaja commended the governor for improved security in the state.
“There is relative peace in Lagos State and we urge the governor to sustain the momentum until the state is rid of all criminal elements and people can be proud of Lagos as the most peaceful city in Africa, ” he said.
He urged residents to collect their Voters’ Cards and elect responsible and credible leaders into governance.
Ogunlaja cautioned the youth and Nigerians from violating government rules due to scarcity of naira notes and fuel.
He urged the youth to remain calm, as the government was working hard to resolve the lingering problems.
“Any youth found wanting in vandilising government properties or engaging in unscrupulous act will face the penalty.
“I therefore, urge Nigerians to remain resolute, be at peace and endure for now till everything is normalised with time, ” he said.(NAN)
