Sango-Ota (Ogun), Aug.25, 2025 (NAN) The Olota of Ota in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun, Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege, has urged both Federal and State Governments to create an enabling environment for industries to thrive in the area.
Obalenlega, in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Ota, Ogun, said the industrial potential belt in Ota could boost the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The traditional ruler stressed the need for the state government to create an enabling environment in Ota and its environs, adding that the town stands as one of Nigeria’s largest industrial concentrations.
Obalenlega added that Ota has more than 500 registered companies in manufacturing, agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, packaging, food, and beverages, among others.
The traditional ruler appealed to governments to pay greater attention to creating a conducive environment through road rehabilitation, reliable power supply, modern logistics, and business-friendly policies.
“With proper infrastructural upgrades, targeted business incentives, and sustained investor confidence, the Ota industrial belt can significantly boost Nigeria’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
“Let us unlock the full potential of these industries and potential in Ota for job creation, skill development for the nation’s youthful workforce, tax revenues, and economic diversification that strengthen state and national coffers,” he said.
According to him, the location of Ota at Nigeria’s southwestern entry point has made it the gateway to West Africa, a natural bridge between the nation’s largest commercial capital and the subregion. (NAN)
