The 10th edition of Zik Lecture Series, instituted in commemoration of the birthday of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, will hold on Tuesday November 16 in Awka, the Anambra state capital.
The federal government named the university, located in Anambra, the home state of Azikiwe, first civilian president of Nigeria, to immortalize one of the founding fathers of the country.
A statement signed by Prof. Uche Nwachukwu, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences,
Nnamdi Azikiwe University, popularly called UNIZIK, stated that the event will hold at the main auditorium of the school in Awka.
The statement was made available to journalists on Sunday.
According to Nwachukwu, Dr Kayode Fayemi, Governor of Ekiti State, will be the guest speaker while other governors from the south east will be special guests of honour.
The lecture is to hold on Tuesday at the main Auditorium of UNIZIK, Awka campus.
Dr Fayemi, who doubles as the Chairman of Nigerian Governors’ Forum, is to speak on the theme: “Security, Governance and Nation Building”.
All the five South East Governors will attend the event, with Gov. David Umahi of Ebonyi, as the chairman.
The Anambra Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, is the chief host.
The Zik Lecture series was initiated 10 years ago by Senator Ben Obi from the state during his tenure in the Senate.(NAN)
