Ibadan, Feb. 20, 2026 (NAN) Two defendants on Friday, appeared before a Mapo Grade A Customary Court in Ibadan, for allegedly stealing a total sum of N800, 300 belonging to a foundation.
The defendants,: Joshua Jesuloni, 38; and Kemi Julius, 31, are standing trial on a one-count charge bordering on stealing.
They each, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Court President, Mrs S.M. Akintayo, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.
Akintayo held that the sureties must provide evidence of tax payment to the Oyo State government as well as a valid identification number.
The court consequently, adjourned the case until March 16, for hearing.
In the charge, the prosecutor, Insp. Ayodele Ayeni alleged that the duo committed the offence on Jan. 27, at about 1.40 p.m. at Mokola, behind Eleganza shopping Complex, Ibadan, Oyo State.
He alleged that the first defendant stole the sum of N488,200 meant for various customers of Accelerated Change Empowerment Foundation.
The prosecutor also alleged that the second defendant stole the sum of N312, 100 belonging to the foundation, which was also meant for disbursement.
The offence contravenes the provisions of section 390 (9) of the Criminal Law of Oyo State 2000. (NAN)
