Ekiti Junior tennis players have won trophies in the just-concluded Sapetro Future Tennis Championship in Lagos.
The coach Wumi Ogunsakin- led players won a trophy in the boys under 14 event, while they came second in the boys and girls under 12 events.
Quozeem Oladapo, the Media Officer of the Ekiti Tennis Association stated this in a statement on Monday, in Ado-Ekiti.
The statement said that Oluwaseun Ogunsakin, emerged champion in the under 14 boys event, just as his younger brother, Oluwaseyi Ogunsakin, came second in the boys under 12.
It added that in the girls under 14 category, Success Ogunjobi, finished second .
Oladapo further said that all the outstanding players were rewarded with gifts, which they dedicated to their respective parents.
This, he explained, was to appreciate and honour their sponsorship by their parents to participate in the championship in which six budding tennis players from the state featured.
” Happily, all of them had since returned safely, with various laurels.”(NAN).
