Jos, March 4, 2026 (NAN) The Chairman of DSK Group International, Chief David Kente on Wednesday, dolled out cash and food items to patients and indigent members of the society as he celebrates his 61st birthday in Jos.

Kente said that the gesture was to appreciate God’s abundant blessings and protection.

The chairman, who was represented by Mr Nathaniel Tsokwa, a director with DSK Group, at the distribution of cash to patients at Plateau Specialist Hospital, pledged to keep touching the lives of the less privileged.

“We are here to attend to the less privileged. This is something that I do every year on my birthday, as well as during Christmas and Independence Day celebrations.

“As we speak, similar activities are taking place in in Jalingo, Abuja, Wukari, other parts of the country and even in the Gambia.

“The visit to hospitals is to offset patients’ bills and to visit correctional centres to secure the release of inmates who are either innocent or serving sentences for minor offences.

“So, we are here at the hospital to provide assistance to those who genuinely need help.

“We worked closely with the hospital management. They helped us identify genuine cases to ensure that the assistance reaches the right people and does not fall into the wrong hands,” he explained.

The international businessman said that motivation was empowerment of the less privileged, as most of his businesses were not purely profit-driven, as they were structured to create opportunities and ensure people can earn a living.

The Chief Medical Director, Plateau Specialist Hospital, Prof. Christopher Yilgwan, lauded  Kente for his kindness.

Yilgwan, who was represented by Mrs Leah Jinan, Director of Administration, said that the act was a shining example to all citizens to emulate.

“On behalf of the management and staff of Plateau State Hospital, I want to sincerely appreciate the celebrant for this remarkable gesture.

“Birthdays are special blessings from the Lord, and choosing to celebrate by identifying with the less privileged speaks volumes about his character.

“It shows that while he lives and thrives on this earth, he carries the fear of God in his heart.

He understands that there are people in need and has made it a tradition to reach out, visiting prisons, orphanages, and hospitals like ours. That is truly commendable,” he said.

A beneficiary, Mrs Rhoda Daje, whose son had severe burns from hot water, said that to share in people’s downtime is uncommon kindness.

Daje prayed God to bless Kente and grant him his heart desires.

Another beneficiary, Mrs Blessing Orgak, described the Kente intervention as God-send.

According to her, they have run out of food and finances to take care of their needs in the hospital. (NAN)
