Alhaji Usman Abbas, a second-class traditional ruler in Nasarawa State, has appealed for the construction of the Adogi/Feferuwa/Arikya road in Lafia LG to boost the agricultural and socio-economic base of the people.
The traditional ruler, who is “Sarkin Arikiya,” made the appeal when he, in the company of the lawmaker representing Lafia North constituency, Mr. Esson Mairiga, visited the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr. Danladi Jatau, on Monday in Lafia.
The traditional ruler said the construction of the road would also boost the revenue base of the area.
He said that the visit was to congratulate Jatau on his emergence as Speaker and assure him of the people’s support at all times.
He also appealed to the speaker for the upgrade of his seat from second-class status to first-class.
”I also want to appeal for the constitution of my chiefdom’s kingmakers,” he added.
The second-class traditional ruler also assured Gov. Abdullahi Sule of their support at all times.
On his part, the speaker appreciated the traditional ruler for the visit and assured him of intervention in the requests of the royal father.
“You have a very dedicated and hardworking son with us, Barr. Esson Mairiga; we will put our heads together and see what we can do,” he said.
He also assured the people of his readiness to operate an open-door policy for the overall development of the state.
The speaker called on the people of Arikiya Chiefdom and the state at large to continue to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.(NAN)
