The House of Representatives has felicitated Muslim faithful on Eld el Fitr, urging them to be more spiritually devoted.
Rep. Akin Rotimi, the spokesperson for the House and Chairman of the House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, said this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja.
“The House celebrates with Muslim faithful across our country and beyond as we commemorate this blessed occasion of Eid-el-Fitr, the end of the holy month of Ramadan,” he said.
“As one of the most important festivals on the Islamic Lunar Calendar, Eid-el-Fitr signifies a celebration of gratitude to Almighty Allah (SWT), spiritual devotion, charity, and a new beginning for each devotee,” he said.
He urged the Muslim faithful to use the opportunity to strengthen the spirit of generosity and togetherness and promote positivity at all times.
He urged for continuous prayers for Nigeria even after Ramadan, saying that a peaceful and prosperous nation equally needed prayers to sustain its blessings.
“We thank Allah (SWT) for making it possible for us to witness the holy month of Ramadan peacefully. We pray that He accepts all our acts of Ibadah.
“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, I enjoin Nigerians, especially Muslims, to offer prayers for the country and our leaders. Let’s also remain united as a people,” he said.(NAN)
