The Acting Director-General of Centre for Management Development (CMD), Mrs Modinat Olusoji, has called for partnership of law enforcement agencies with the centre in tackling the operation of unaccredited management training firms in the country.
Olusoji in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Abuja, said that there was need to enforce the law against the activities of quack or unaccredited trainers in the training profession.
Olusoji, urged the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) and Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) to assist the centre in fulfilling its mandate.
She urged the anti-graft agencies to use their mandate in making the sure that unaccredited firms did not get training contracts.
The acting director general, emphasised that the regulatory powers of the centre were derived from the act establishing it.
She said that the centre formulated policies and guidelines for the coordination of management education and training activities throughout the country.
Olusoji said that the centre also develop and promote high national standards of management education, entrepreneurial development and supervisory training programmes.
She said that the centre keeps and maintain a register of management training institutions and their programmes including their subjects, location, standards, duration, type and cost.
Olusoji also adviced all training firms in the country to get their firm accredited by the centre to operate their business smoothly with no fear of rejection.
“ We have over 400 accredited firms in 2023,” she said. (NAN)
