
The graduation ceremony and distribution of empowerment funds were held at LEA Primary School, Rigachikun, in Igabi LGA on Saturday.
Chairman and Convener of the network, Abdulmuninu Zaria, said the initiative aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
He explained that the programme was initially designed as the Mamadi/Uba Sani Skills Acquisition Programme before being renamed under the Renewed Hope initiative.
According to him, beneficiaries received training in eight vocational skills and financial support to establish small businesses.
“We trained them in various skills and provided financial assistance to help them stand on their feet and become self-reliant,” he said.
Zaria appreciated Gov. Uba Sani for his developmental strides and commitment to improving the welfare of Kaduna residents.
He also expressed gratitude to individuals and organizations whose support ensured the success of the programme.
He also commended the organisers for complementing government efforts at grassroots development.
Also speaking, the Governor’s Senior Special Adviser on Social Investment Programmes, Hajiya Falmata Abacha, described the graduation as the beginning of a new chapter for beneficiaries.
She said the initiative would help tackle poverty through practical skills, financial inclusion and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Abacha noted that the Kaduna State Government had implemented several poverty alleviation programmes targeting women, youths and persons with disabilities.
She said the intervention aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Gov. Uba Sani’s vision of inclusive governance.
According to her, the state government remains committed to empowering vulnerable groups through social protection and economic development programmes.
Former Sole Administrator of Igabi LGA, Jafar Murtala Sabo, highlighted key Federal Government projects in Kaduna State.
He listed the Abuja Kaduna, Zaria Kano Highway reconstruction, Mando Kaduna Birnin Gwari Road project, the Kaduna Light Rail Project, the Kano Kaduna Gas Pipeline and the Ibadan-Kaduna-Kano Railway as transformational projects.
An Emirate Council member, Alhaji Abdullahi Jumare, expressed appreciation to stakeholders for supporting community development initiatives.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Hadiza Muhammad thanked President Tinubu and Gov. Uba Sani for creating opportunities for women and youths.
She said participants acquired skills in catering, home farming, computer operations, paint production, bedsheet making and other trades.
Muhammad pledged that beneficiaries would utilise the knowledge and financial support to improve their livelihoods and contribute to society.
She added that the three month training programme had equipped participants with practical skills for economic independence.
They beneficiaries also pledged their continued support for initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians.(NAN)
