Jos, Oct. 21, 2025 (NAN) A Magistrate’s Court in Jos, on Tuesday sentenced a 36 -year-old trader, Kumbo Chukbak, to one year in prison for stealing car parts.
The Magistrate, Irene Pati summarily tried and sentenced the convict, who pleaded guilty to the two- count charge of trespass and theft.
Pati, in her judgment gave the convict an option of fine of N10, 000 or spend six months in prison for trespass and another N20, 000 or six months in prison for stealing.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Daniel Damulak, told the court that the case was reported at the Anglo-Jos Police Station on Sept. 20, by one Bummy Sunday, the complainant.
Damulak said that the convict trespassed into the complainant’s house and stole the car parts before he was caught with them.
He added that the offence contravened the Plateau Penal Code Law. (NAN)
