Ile-Ife (Osun), March 9, 2026 (NAN) An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court, on Monday, ordered that one Oyewusi Ojo, 35, be remanded in the correctional facility over alleged contempt of court.

Ojo, whose address was not provided, is facing a one-count charge, bordering on contempt of court.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge but was not legally represented in court.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, ASP Emmanuel Abdullahi, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 2 at Chief Magistrates’ Court 111, in Ile-Ife.

Abdullahi said that the defendant intentionally disrespected the court by failing to appear before it, being an accused in a suit with No.MIF/282C/2022 without any permission.

He also said that the offence contravened section 133, Laws of Osun, 2002.

The Magistrate, Mrs Abosede Sarumi, did not grant the defendant bail.

Sarumi ordered that he be remanded at the Nigerian Correctional Centre, Ile-Ife, pending the consideration of his bail application.

She adjourned the case to March 12, for hearing. (NAN)
