Okitipupa (Ondo State), March 11, 2026 (NAN) A 24-year-old commercial motorcyclist, Daniel Adegoke, on Wednesday appeared before an Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State for allegedly stealing palm fruits worth N300,000.
The defendant, whose address was not provided, is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
The Police Prosecutor, ASP Ayodeji Omoyeigha, told the court that the defendant and two others, still at large, committed the offences on Jan. 5 at about 9.30 a.m. at a palm fruit plantation in Igbekebo, within the Igbekebo Magisterial District.
Omoyeigha said the defendant allegedly stole palm fruits valued at N300,000, property of Okitipupa Oil Palm Plc.
He said the offences contravened Sections 516 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Mayowa Olanipekun, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
Olanipekun said the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and provide evidence of two years’ tax payment to the state government.
The case was adjourned until March 25 for further hearing. (NAN)(
