Ile-Ife (Osun), April 8, 2026 (NAN) An Ile-Ife Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, remanded a 38-year-old man, Godwin Bonde, for allegedly stealing ‘Iyere seeds.’
The defendant pleaded not guilty to a one-count charge of stealing
Magistrate Abosede Sarumi did not grant the bail of the defendant, but ordered for his remand at the Nigerian Correctional Service, Ile-Ife.
She adjourned the case until April 13 and to be mentioned at Modakeke Magistrates’ Court.
Earlier, the prosecutor, CP Feyisola Akinwoye, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on April 7, around 4p.m. at Oduren area via Modakeke.
Akinwoye alleged that the defendant stole Iyere seeds valued at N100, 000, property of one Lawal Jelili.
He added that the offence is contrary to Section 383 and punishable under Section 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002. (NAN)
