An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, on Monday, sentenced one Thomas Olamilekan, 29, to two years in the correctional centre for breaking into a house to steal cable wires, glazed window frames and other items worth N728,000.
The Magistrate, Mrs O.O. Fadairo, sentenced the convict to two years imprisonment with an option of N100,000 fine.
She said that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubts that Olamilekan was guilty of the charge brought against him.
During trial, the Prosecutor, ASP E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convict committed the offences on May 3, at Tewogbade Street, Ayomikun CDA, Off Baba Ekiti Ntabo, Ijoko, Ota.
Adaraloye said that the convict broke into the residence of one Opeyemi Onanuga, and stole cable wires, Aluminum glass window and other items worth
N728, 000.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 390(9) and 411(1) of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006. (NAN)
