The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, has received bulletproof vests and helmets from the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF).
This is contained in a statement on Tuesday by the command’s spokesperson, Mr Oluwaseun Abolurin.
Abolurin said that the items were presented by the Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr Ayo Ogunsan on Monday, and received by the state Commandant of the corps, Mr Adedotun Keshinro.
Keshinro said that the donation reflected the continued collaboration between the LSSTF and security agencies in the state towards improving safety and operational effectiveness.
According to him, the donation is aimed at strengthening our operational capacity and enhancing safety during security operations across the state.
The commandant reaffirmed the corps readiness to deepen collaboration with relevant stakeholders in ensuring a safer and more secure Lagos state.
He expressed appreciation to LSSTF, and described the gesture as unprecedented, adding that it would boost the morale of personnel in the field.
“The support will further boost the morale and operational readiness of personnel in the field, and the items will be put to judicious use.
“The command remains committed to protecting lives and property in line with its mandate,” he said.
The commandant also said that the donation underscored the importance of inter-agency support in strengthening internal security architecture and enhancing the capacity of security operatives in the state.(NAN)
