The Nigerian Army says it has restored normalcy to Baga, after the convoy of the governor of the state Babagana Zulum, was attacked on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in Baga on Wednesday.
Army Spokesman, Sagir Musa, in a statement on Thursday, said earlier, Zulum visited Commander 19 Brigade at the Nigerian Army Super Camp where he was briefed on the security situation.
Musa noted that details of the incident were still āsketchyā but assured that investigations had commenced, while efforts to comb the area, āwith a view to track down and deal decisively with the attackersā.
The official described the onslaught as āan isolated oneā.
The Army claimed that normalcy had been restored in Baga, āwith socio-economic activities picking upā.
The statement assured Nigerians that the incident would be investigated to forestall future reoccurrence.
Musa said the military will continue to discharge its responsibilities āprofessionally and respect fundamental human rightsā and enjoined the people of Baga and Borno to provide credible information to security agencies.
