The Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement that foreign ministers of Egypt, Palestine, and Jordan on Thursday discussed recent developments in Palestine and a process toward ensuring peace.
The ministry added that the tripartite meeting took place before the ministerial conference of 156th Ordinary Session of the Arab League Council.
The meeting also considered efforts toward launching a serious and constructive negotiation process aimed at reaching fair and comprehensive settlement based on a two-state solution.
The statement said Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry reaffirmed “Egypt’s fixed stance of boosting the Palestinian cause and rights of the Palestinian people.”
Shoukry also called on concerned international and regional powers to provide convenient conditions for pushing forward the peace process.
During the meeting, the statement added, the three top diplomats also discussed the most prominent international and regional developments as well as the means of promoting a joint Arab cooperation framework.
They agreed on sustaining tripartite coordination for the interests of the people of the three countries.
